That's talking about tractors, not tractors that talk...

1032 queries

Hello all,
I have a non-running 1032 that I bought recently in Cumbria. Gearbox seems ok, engine has good compression now I have unstuck the inlet valve, a spark, and I have ungummed the petrol pump so that should work. I have electrics and an ignition switch that makes them operate correctly (once I'd made a key!) and the dynastart turns the engine over briskly.
A few bits of advice would be welcome:
1. How do I remove the pulleys to get at the points?
2. What battery is the best aftermarket one?
3. How does one engage/disengage the rear epicyclic hubs? A large hammer???
4. Are they happy with straight unleaded fuel?
5. Has anyone got a pattern for a male part to fit the rear PTO or is there one available?
6 Any idea on the hydraulic pump and what it can be used for?
7. Does anyone have any of the following items anywhere near me: a seat, a steering wheel, one rear wheel stud?
8. What are the bulb codes for the tell-tales on the dashboard?
9. What headlamps were fitted?
10. One owner told me there was an oil pressure light, I cannot find a sender unit and though the MAG engine was splash lubrication.

Over to you!
Many thanks in advance,
J

puller on the flywheel,
reduction hubs are engaged and disengaged with a pin ether locking both sides together or locking one to the frame underneath

1. How do I remove the pulleys to get at the points?

Yeah, hub puller, WD40, patience

2. What battery is the best aftermarket one?

I found anything will do as long as it's 12 volt. Never managed to find one the right size so bent the tray to take the closest sized battery I could get.

3. How does one engage/disengage the rear epicyclic hubs? A large hammer???

See previous answer

4. Are they happy with straight unleaded fuel?

Some say yes, some say NO! I am cautious and always use lead replacement additive. It's cheap and has been OK for the last 15 years.

5. Has anyone got a pattern for a male part to fit the rear PTO or is there one available?

Stick a wadge of BluTack up it...

6 Any idea on the hydraulic pump and what it can be used for?

Sorry can't help, don't have anything that sophisticated on mine :-)

7. Does anyone have any of the following items anywhere near me: a seat, a steering wheel, one rear wheel stud?

Have you tried Chester Hudson (Google Chester Hudson Tillerparts)

8. What are the bulb codes for the tell-tales on the dashboard?

No idea, sorry.

9. What headlamps were fitted?

10. One owner told me there was an oil pressure light, I cannot find a sender unit and though the MAG engine was splash lubrication.

There's only an ignition light on my 1032 - check the wiring diagram.

Good luck
